After graduation from Clover Park, I attended Washington State University for 2 years and then 2 more at University of Puget Sound. Spent the next 4 years in the Army, taught school briefly, worked for civil service then got a Master's Degree at San Jose State University. Married with one of our eventuoally three children, we moved back to Tacoma where I got a job as a copywriter at the Cole & Weber Advertising agency in Seattle; which is also where I wrote "Do the Puyallup" for the Western Washington State Fair. In 1980 I was recruited to an agency in San Diego, spent 5 years with them, went freelance for 11 years and finished my career with a couple of local firms in their marketing departments, retiring in 2006. During that time I was divorced, then remarried to a wonderful woman who died in 2016 after a long bout with brain cancer. From her, I acquired a great stepson. The gods must be smiling upon me because I am now in a relationship with another wonderful woman. Musically, during my years in San Diego I have been fortunate enough to play in church bands for over 40 years (guitar, bass and drums), as well as a Dixieland Band (3 years), Blues/Classioc Rock Band (6 years) and a Standards Quartet (current). Stu and I met at WSU and have been married for 45 years.  He flew for TWA so we had the privilege of traveling for all of those years.  We have lived in New Jersey, Southern CA and now for the past 20 years in Gig Harbor.  We have 2 grandchildren.  I am looking forward to the reunion and thanks to all of you who have worked to make it happen.  DDA

Since I left CP 50 years ago, I have lived in seven foreign countries, but ultamitely settled in Kirkland. After retiring from the UW, I bought a small cherry orchard in the Yakima Valley Wine Country to someday move nearer to my son Avery, his wife Christine and my 8 mo old granddaughter Daphne.

A lot of my time is spent volunteering with dog rescue organizations and making visits to hospitals, hospices and children's centers etc., with my two therapy dogs, Clancy, a Wheaten Terrier and Lupe, an Airedale Terrier.  I also continue to ski, hike, camp, garden and travel. Unfortunately, I will be in the middle of an 18 hour plane journey while you are all celebrating and enjoying the reunion.  I am very dissapointed to miss it.  I hope there wil be a 55th.

I have really enjoyed, with great memories and nostalgia, reading the bio-sketches.  Thanks to all who have worked so hard in putting this great event together.

retired network engineer Married 4 2022-08-01 17:18:56
I am retired since 2003.  Leanne and I have been married for 47+ years, two step-sons (hers), one son (mine) and one daughter (ours); also a Norwegian Elkhound dog .  We have three granddaughters in Orlando  -- ages 26, 24 and 17 (my son's) and a granddaughter, age 13 and a grandson, age 9 (our daughter's) in Issaquah.  We moved to Snoqualmie Ridge in 2007 (and finally got my view of Mt. Rainier!) after being in Redmond for 38 years.  Worked for IBM for 5+ years, then went to a small service bureau which became a subsidiary of, then a part of, Seafirst Bank which was acquired by Bank of America...a total of 32+ years.

Health has been good but my joints are disintegrating -- an ankle fusion, a hip and knee replacement (and another knee to be done), plus a rotator cuff repair!  Have been trying to keep working out but these things have hindered that some.  Leanne and I have enjoyed helping to take care of our granddaughter and grandson, and going to all their school and sports activities (competitive dance, competitive gymnastics, baseball, soccer, basketball, etc.  Our dogs have also been a major part of ouir lives!

I enjoy jazz and good red wine!  I mow the grounds for a local winemaker (William Grassie Wine Estates) at his home in Fall City where he has a few acres with a small vineyard that he also uses for hosting various events.  I tell people I mow for wine!

I am trying to get Leanne to join me for this reunion but she's not sure about that yet.  Anxious to see old friends again!

Left the NW after college,, have lived in the East since...NYC and settled in Gloucester, Ma. (a powerful and beautiful little town). Church work gave way to Outward Bound, then helped found "Project Adventure" which has had some nice influence in the education and counseling worlds.  Coupla books behind me, and still in print!!  Always working on  a book of poems, but believe my daughter (in the SF fog just married world) will beat me to the pubisher.  Son a builder here in town, with three kids, a wonderful poppa..  My wife Nicole an advocate for battered women (wrote a fine play about it), and conducts a therapy practice.  My retirement will begin when I finish building an "Environmental-Adventure Learning Center" in our local High School.  Just completing engine installment in my sailboat, my sea scout days with Chuck Creesy still rings clear.  Hike the Olympics every summer with a NW pal.  Nice to anticipate this event....have been out of touch for so long....

School Psychologist Single 2 2023-09-15 20:00:18
After teaching French and Spanish at Clover Park High School for two years (1965-1967), I worked for 36 years for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Misawa, Japan; Fuchu (Tokyo) Japan; the Philippines; England; Turkey; Korea; and Okinawa.     After retiring from "DoDDS"  in 2006, I worked for the Tacoma Public Schools for 8 years, retiring in 2015.  Then, I was hired by the Fife School District as a part time school psychologist.  I am still working for the Fife School District two to three days per week during the school year.  I work only because I love this job!  The 2024/2024 school year is my 8th year working for the Fife School District.

While in Korea I adopted two Korean children, Jaime Elizabeth, born in 1983 and Thomas Richard, born in 1987.   Jaime is married to Jonathan Bongard, is a second grade teacher, and lives with her husband in Maple Valley, WA.   They have four little boys:  Jon, Jerry, Jack, & Jett.  Son Thomas lives in University Place and works as an Audi  Tech in Fife, WA.  He andSarah,  his girlfriend of seven years, have purchased a home in University Place.

I have a summer cottage in Bay View, Michigan, where I spend my summers.   While in Michigan I have been participating in a mass Handbell Choir for seven years including August 2023.  The rest of the year I live in University Place.

In addition to hiking a pilgrimage:   El Camino de Santiago de Campostela in Spain in 2016, I have also participated in four Habitat for Humanity builds in El Salvador (2014), Nicaragua (2015), Guatemala (2017) and Vietnam (2018).

For the last six years, I have been the chairperson of the Peace and Justice Committee at my church, St. Mark's Lutheran by the Narrows.  One of our activities is to build Tiny Houses in the Tacoma area!  In  September 2023 I Sam serving on the Call Committee at my church to call a new lead pastor.  I also enjoy golfing and playing Duplicate Bridge.

I look forward to seeing everyone at Foley's on Sept. 15, 2024.
