Forty years after meeting in the design industry in Manhattan, my late husband Robert and I relocated to Palo Alto in 2010. I have three wonderful children, my daugher, 26 who just completed her Masters in public health and two older daughters of my husbands along with their five children combined. Looking forward to the CP reunion. |

I would really love to come to the reunion, but we are building a home in Tarpon Springs, Florida, and it will be finished in about 2 weeks. The project started a little over 2 years ago and we're anxious to see it completed, since we're not getting younger. Old age seems to have crept up on us, and it's hard to believe we're 79---though we still feel like 74. A little history post Clover Park: After graduating from the UW, I moved to Anaheim to teach school, and worked weekends as a tour guide at Disneyland. Having minored in European history, I had a burning desire to visit Europe, so after teaching one year, I moved to Germany, where I stayed for 3 years, initially working as a civilian for the US army in Heidelberg. While there I met my husband, John Kobasic, who was stationed at the American Forces Network as a disc jockey in Frankfurt. I moved to Frankfurt and our son, Kevin was born there. We moved back to the States in 1969, and settled in Portland, Oregon, where John started an advertising business. He eventually opened another office in Seattle and we moved there in 1987. During our time in Seattle, I had a showroom at the Seattle Design Center where we specialized in architectural detail. One winter we visited my brother, Michael, in Tarpon Springs and after returning to a rainy Seattle, we decided to move there for a few years. Little did I know we would end up staying, and 11 years later I find I'm quite attached to our little Greek fishing village. I hope you all have a wonderful time at the reunion, renewing old friendshilps, and I wish that I would be there to hear all the stories of good times gone by. |

I retired to Sebring, Florida 3 years ago and I find myself busier now than I ever was when I was working. I spent 30 years in various aspects in the residential mortgage business ending with a 17 year position as VP of a small mortgage due diligence company. My work took my all over the country.... back when travel was not such a hassle, and I truly loved it.
Among many other activities that keep me busy, I enjoy playing bridge two or three times a week and teaching line dancing at a local 55+ community.
I have fond memories of my time at Clover Park and in the Lakewood/Tacoma area and I’m looking forward to attending reunion festivities. |

Comment: I attended Stephen College and then graduated from the U of O in Education and worked in the schools, mostly middle school, until 2003. I married a great guy that I met at the U of O, Lowell, and we have two sons, both who are married. Mike, our oldest, lives in Everett and has two girls, 15 and 10. And our other son Chris lives in Steamboat Springs Colorado and has a son 6 months old. We spent a lot of time skiing and outdoors with our kids. When they were older we took up sailing and have had several boats. In 1997 we took a sabbatical from work and had a great trip when we went down through the Panama Canal and up to Florida on the sailboat. For the past 5 years, after retirement we have kept our boat in Mexico and spend about 6 months there and 6 months in our home in Mt. Vernon. My husband and I are both enjoying our life as retired grandparents. |
