Classmate Profiles

This is your opportunity to provide a little bit about what has occupied your life for the past 60 years.  Be as cryptic or as verbose as you desire.  Just one little word of caution -- our committee reviewer is known to strike out explicit profanity.  Any photographs you also wish to share can be downloaded in the 'image box'.

Provide as much or as little contact information you wish to appear on your profile page.  Should you seek unlisted contact information about a classmate, please send us a query on the "Contact Us" page.  We will endeavor to coordinate your inquiry with that person.

Profiles for the 2011 and 2016 Reunions have been retained.  Use yours as you wish to modify, delete and/or add more comments.

If you have forgotten or lost your personal password, please create a new Profile and we will make an effort to combine the current and older information together.  Since we have no record of your old password,  please keep track of your new one.

Occupation: Retired Teacher/Blueberry Farmer
Comment: After high school graduation went to Fort Ord for six months of basic training for the National Guard. Worked at Albertson's for a year and then entered UPS and after 2 years transferred to the U of W. Married Sue Hadfield (CP class of 62) in 1963. Graduated U of W 1967. Started teaching in Bellevue.

Two sons resulted from that union (Brett in 1968 and Tor in 1971) which culminated in divorce in 1973.

Taught at an alternative school(Off-Campus School started by the Bellevue School District in 1970) from 1970 until 1999. During those 32 years I lived in Port Orchard,Kirkland, Snoqualmie (twice),Centralia,Kirkland and finally Puyallup. I bought the Blueberry Farm in 1998(6.06 acres with 2100 blueberry plants) in preparation for retirement and have been farming it for 14 years.  It is an uncertified organic "You Pick" operation with harvest season support from my son Tor and his wife Tiffany, sister Mardonna and husband Lloyd, brother Gorden and nieces and nephews and my border collie Katie.

The farm has existed since 1940 and the first plants may have been planted then. It has at least 20 cultavars that may be as old or older than I

am. Every day is a job and every day is a vacation. Come and pick to classical music itsone of life's fine experiences.

Dave Lyle

Marital status: Married
Children: 4
Occupation: Store Owner
Comment: My first 27 years out of high school were spent in college at Western, graduate school at Central and a teaching/coaching career that saw me work on both sides of the mountains in both Oregon and Washington.  I the made the mistake of becomming a principal and hated it.  After a year of that I bought a Radio Shack store and started my second career.  At one point we were up to three stores but a few years ago we cut back to two.  My wife Barbara and I are still both working full time although we do try to take more vacation time each year.  Along the way we have accumulated four kids, nine grand kids and to date two great grand kids.

Lael Maurins (harris)

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Occupation: Retired Realtor
Comment: My husband, Jack, and I moved to Olympia in 1998.

We love living down here and it's been fun to find other 1961 C.P. graduates living here also.

In the past ten years I have become a grand-parent to my daughter's two children Sarah and David -

ages 7 and 9. I can highly recommend being a grand-parent - so much more fun than being a parent!

Life is great other than the aches and pains of getting older. I'm looking forward to seeing every one at the reunion.

I have been married for 46 years to my very sweet and tolerant husband, Darl.  We have two great sons, Rob and Jeff, the best daughter-in-law, Jaimie and after thinking  we would be in the home before we had grand children__FINALLY, we are Nama and Cappy to Connor and Marley! Life, as we knew it changed, when Dixie, our white boxer, came into the picture__she absolutely rules the house.  We have spent the last 12 years working on our bucket list, complete one thing...add two more...so it's going to take a while.  We have had a lot laughter, a few tears, but all and all a wonderful Fifty years!

I am still practicing law in Tacoma with the firm of Morton McGoldrick P.S.

My wife and I have three children, Peter, John and Katie.   We have four grandchildren.

We live on Oro Bay on Anderson Island where we raise horses, apples, clams and grandchildren.  Jeanne and I are involved in many volunteer activities.   We run and support a free medical clinic in Tacoma's hilltop.  We have been missionaries to Africa.  Jeanne runs the events at the old historic Johnson farm on Anderson Island.  We were just elected as man and woman of the year for Anderson Island.  I am on the Board of Trustees for the WSU Foundation and advise its Honor College.  We have been blessed.  Life is good.
